University Series: Final Month at Uni!

Hi Lovely people!!!!

I know it has been a long time since I last blogged, but I do have a reason, and one reason only....University! This month has been quite a tough and emotional month as it is my last ever month at Mid Cheshire College. This month saw quite a few deadlines (one of which is this friday), and my exam which happened yesterday, which was my last actual day! 

I think the HRM Exam went okay...basically there were two section. Section A was multiple choice and Section B was where you had to pick four out of eleven questions to answer. I personally think I've done alright. 

I also handed in my tour operations and cruise case studies this week. I have to submit my research project on Friday and then my final submission which is my PAD Portfolio on the 5th of june...then I'm done till graduation at Bridgewater Hall in July. 

After all my assignments are submitted I will be updating this blog hopefully every day or every two days between the 5th of June and the 21st of July. I really hope you stick with me and this blog.

Update and apology!

Hi Lovely People!!! 

I just wanted to do this quick post as a way of letting you all know what i've been up to and also as an apology. 

I am really sorry for not uploading a proper post in a while, I have a lot of university assignments to complete as the deadlines are this month, and also I have my exam. This month being my last ever month at University. 

This is my deadline/UNI schedule right now: 

19th May - Deadline for both Cruise and Tour Operations Case Studies 

20th May - HRM Exam

22nd May - Research project Hand In - must be bound 

5th June - Portfolio/PAD deadline 

I do have several post ideas which I will start posting as soon as I've handed in my last assignment. However I do have a post that I really want to post before I hand all my assignments in. It's going to be an Avon Haul as I received my order yesterday and I'm pretty excited to show you what I ordered. That post is hopefully going to be up around Half 9 on Monday Morning..So please keep your eyes peeled on Bloglovin and Twitter for the link.

Speaking of new posts, I will hopefull try to update daily as there is that many posts I want to do so please look out for those. 

Once again I'm sorry for the lack of Blog Posts, I will be consistent again soon.

University Series Part 6: Appraisals

Hey Everyone, this is part six of my university series. So yesterday as part of our case study for HRM (Human Resource Management), we did Task B which was a recorded Appraisal assessment. We paired up, and I was originally on my own then a week or so before my tutor asked me if I would pair up with a friend who was on her own, so I agreed. Anyway, back to yesterday, our tutor said to us that we would be in the HE Room in the library doing our assessment, and that two pairs would be in the room at the same time so the assessments got done quicker. The first pairs up were me and my partner, and my two other friends who were paired together. Myself and My partner were being filmed on our Tutors Ipad and my friends were being recorded on the video camera.
To be honest, I think it went well, I asked the questions clearly and tried to answer the questions i was asked as best as I could. There were a few giggles at some point but overall it was a fun experience even though I was nervous.
Also yesterday we were given our final deadlines for all of our assignments as well as details for our graduation, which I am quite looking forward to.

University Post 5: 2nd Submission, Results, Work experience and Half term

Hey everyone, so i'm back with another post in my university series. I also wanted to apologise as i said in my last post that today would be a double update, sadly it won't as I am ill :( instead i will post today, tomorrow and saturday to make up for it.
First things first on the agenda for this post, is that i submitted my second essay, this time it was for cruise. Now, I'm not going to lie...but this essay was an absolute nightmare. Why, you might ask? Because of three things...Critical analysis, Harvard referencing and finding information in general. I highly dislike the first two...and i didn't put much critical analysis into my essay..but i'm not too bothered.
Second thing, I got my grade back for my Tour Operations essay. I got 50% which I'm quite happy with. It was better than last years grade for the first essay.
Third thing, On the first week in March, I am doing a weeks Work Experience placement, to tie in with my research project/mini dissertation on 'Effective Teamwork in the Workplace'. I am spending a week at Abbeycroft Veterinary Centre, which is literally two minutes away from my house. i will be working a 9am-5pm shirt with an hour for Lunch. I don't know exactly what i'll be doing but I'm really excited about it.
Finally, I am on half term until the 24th of February, then i'm literally in that day and the 25th then i'll be off till the 10th March due to the New York Trip (which sadly I'm not going on..but i wish i was) and my work experience.

University Post 4: First assignment Submission

Hey Everyone!! I'm back with another post in my university series :) Nowadays in university, it's sort of like a monthly countdown till we finish at the end of May and our graduation in July. I'll be happy once i have finished...anyway, this month's post is on my first assignment submission. On Tuesday 20th January 2015 I officially submitted my first assignment of second year. If I'm honest; I'm glad i have my Tour Operations essay doe and completed, I went slightly over the word limit but it's hard to write lots of detail in a maximum word count. I'm just dreading carrying on with the cruise essay that's due in about three weeks :/. The worst things for me, in general, when it comes to essay writing is two things: Harvard referencing and critical analysis. Whoever came up with the idea of those things, i really dislike you right now. Luckily i didn't need critical analysis in the Tour Ops essay but I do need it in Cruise. My problem is, that i struggle to find the right thing to analyse and back up my argument, as well as having the concentration and motivation span of a duck billed platypus. *Sigh*
This year we are lucky as we only have to do two essays. The other assignments include three case studies, our mini dissertation/research projects, an exam, and an appraisals recording. Actually, looking at that sentence I've just written were actually not that lucky. Since we are only in two days a week and finish in may we have around 10-14 weeks to do everything (i think that includes half term as well though)
...I'll get through it eventually.

University Series 3: Starting Assignments

Hi everyone and welcome back to my university series! So i don't really have much to say for this post except the fact that i have officially started doing assignments...I'm almost halfway through my Cruise essay and i'm waiting to get the Assignment that i missed from my tutor for Tour Operations...i was going to get it this week but then i realised that my tutor is in Disneyland Paris with the BTEC First years....i am jealous!!! (As you can probably tell i'm like a child when it comes to disney). Anyway..I'm sorry this post is really short, i have more posts coming up throughout the month of december. University Post 2 and Children in Need!!!!

Hi Everyone, so First things first, Happy Children in Need day!!!!! I hope you all have an awesome day, and that you do something funny for money...or even donate. You can donate anything, small or big. My mum and i have both donate some money and my mum is going into work dressed up in 80's style fashion, she looks brilliant!!!
Anyway...going off topic there, welcome back to my university series :) I know this is only the second post but i do have slightly more to update with this time. I am now in my third month of my second year, and i'm finding it slightly tough. i have been off quite a bit for personal reasons but luckily i have managed to just about catch up on what i have missed. Two assignments have been launched and another one is being launched next week. I have started my research project for Work based unit, but have yet to contact anyone about doing work experience, i've made an attempt to start my cruise essay and next week my tutor for Tour Operations is launching our first assignment. Luckily we have quite a while to do them but i want to get them done and over with and not leave them to the last minute like I did last year...oops!!!

University Series 1: Introduction & First Month

Hi everyone, How are you all?? I apologise for not posting in a while as i've been super busy and ill :( But i will try and be more consistent with my blog posts now that my first month of university is done and dusted.
Anyway, as you can probably tell from the title of this post, i'm starting a university series that will document my last year at university/college. So, i'm currently studying Travel and Tourism Management as a foundation degree at Manchester Metropolitan University, but i'm not actually studying on campus. I'm an external student, which means i don't study at the uni campus, but at my local college instead. For me, that's mid Cheshire College in Northwich , Cheshire. So far i've been back for around five weeks, but i've only been in for three as i've been ill. It's definitely a lot tougher this year. More coursework, the tutors expect more of us, an exam in HRM (Human Resource Management), but we do graduate this year which i'm excited about.
Anyway, thats about all from me for this first post, as i haven't got that much to write about. The next post for this series will be around the end of this month, and i have an Avon Haul and a post on luxury marshmallows coming up in the next few days.
